Lake Eugene
The recent storm left several ponds in our back yard. We knew the ground was hard clay, given the roots of the maple and elm have surfaced in several places, but we didn't know how poor the drainage was. The portion along the back fence is about three feet higher than the rest of the yard, and will be our garden in the spring. I guess the rest will be OK, since I don't really have plans to plant there. I'm planning to put in a terraced row to divide the top part from the bottom. I wonder if we can install some kind of underground pipe for drainage when I do so. I have absolutely no clue how to proceed.
